Wheat Grinder

Jon's Dad had one of these beauties at his house. The poor thing needed a new home, so I invited it to live at ours. I want to get the wheat grinder attachment. Does anyone out there have it? I read a review on it that said it can break your mixer. I was wondering if any of you had an opinion on that?

If it does break it, KitchenAid has a pretty good warranty.

I have the attachment and I love it. It actually did break my first KitchenAid but even though I had had it for four years (since my wedding) KitchenAid sent me a brand new mixer. It's not the wheat grinder's issue, it's just some KitchenAid's are a bit defective, and can't handle the power that it takes to run the wheat grinder. It has worked like a charm ever since they sent me the new mixer.

(One note: make sure you ALWAYS run it on full speed when you use the wheat grinder - read all of the instructions that come with the wheat grinder and you should be able to avoid anything going wrong).

Lucky You. I love my kitchenAid. I don't have the wheat attachment, and it is not a pretty red like yours. Just boring white.
